West Coast contemporary architecture meets modern Miami influences in this custom home designed for a retired couple who was looking for the ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Built by MAC Island Construction, this project we coined "West Coast Rock 'n' Roll" showcases a harmonious balance of warm woods and cool stones throughout, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame spectacular views of the Salish Sea. From the serene Zen-like entry courtyard to the kitchen that appears to float over the water, every space was thoughtfully designed to connect with the natural surroundings. Bold color accents, custom cabinetry, and statement pieces like the three-story wallpapered stairwell complement the homeowners' modern art collection and guitar display. This high-tech, energy-efficient home features luxurious primary suites with private balconies, an entertainment level with outdoor kitchen, and a separate guest house—all working together to create a warm, contemporary elegance with an unexpected edge.
